Expert Tips
Give the grade a clean monitor feed
The panel carries no video. For a full-screen picture on a separate display, fit a DeckLink Mini Monitor 4K playback card in a desktop with a spare PCIe slot, or use the UltraStudio Monitor 3G for Thunderbolt playback to a monitor.
Use PoE for a one-cable desk
On a PoE network switch, the panel takes power and control over one Ethernet cable. Only one of its two ports carries PoE: use the one marked PoE.
Grade on location from 12V
The 4-pin XLR input takes 12V DC, so a battery can run the panel when mains power is unreliable.
Update between jobs
When you update DaVinci Resolve, check the panel firmware with DaVinci Control Panels Setup, between jobs rather than at the start of a paid session.

What Each Control Does
- Trackballs and rings. Roll a ball to shift color balance in shadows, midtones or highlights (lift, gamma, gain); turn its ring to set the level. Keys beside each ball reset it, and three keys above switch between primary and log wheels, bring up offset and send the viewer full screen.
- Primary knobs. Twelve knobs, from Y Lift to Lum Mix, put contrast, pivot, saturation and hue under your fingers.
- Screens and soft controls. Each 5-inch screen shows menus for the selected tool, with four soft keys above and four soft knobs below. That is how curves, qualifiers, power windows and tracking reach the panel.
- Dedicated keys. Separate keys switch tools, work with nodes, grab stills and move through the timeline; play, reverse and stop handle playback.
Power and Connections
Connect to the computer over USB-C or gigabit Ethernet; the panel has two Ethernet ports, one with PoE. Power comes three ways: the internal 100–240V supply through an IEC mains inlet, a 12V DC source on the 4-pin XLR input, or Power over Ethernet on the port marked PoE. There is no external power brick, and it draws 17W at most.

- A mains cord with an IEC C13 connector, a 12V XLR supply, or a PoE switch.
- A USB-C cable or a network connection to the computer.

How to Set Up the DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel
- Power the panel, then connect it to the computer by USB-C, or put it on the same network by Ethernet.
- Install DaVinci Resolve and activate Studio with the key from the box.
- In Resolve's preferences, open Control Panels and select the DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel.
- Run DaVinci Control Panels Setup to check for a firmware update, then quit it and restart Resolve.

The two grading panels share one trackball and knob layout, so skills carry over; the Mini adds screens and soft controls for secondary grading.
