Test the whole ISO chain the day before
Format the SSD, switch ISO on, record ten minutes with every camera and mic live, then open the project in DaVinci Resolve on your editing computer.
Keep each camera on a fixed input
Every ISO file belongs to one HDMI input and carries its camera number. Same camera, same input, every show, and the editor knows each file.
Set the streaming bitrate with the program file in mind
The program file is recorded at the streaming quality setting, so a lower bitrate for a weak connection also lowers the program recording. The camera files are recorded separately.
Cameras far apart? Consider SDI
For cameras spread across a hall, beyond easy HDMI runs, the SDI-input version of this switcher records the same way over SDI.

What ISO Recording Writes to Your Drive
ISO is a recording setting. Switch it on in ATEM Software Control and each recording becomes a folder on the USB-C drive:
- 4 camera files: one clean H.264 MP4 per HDMI input, up to 70 Mb/s with AAC audio, whether or not that camera was on air.
- 1 program file: the switched show, at the streaming quality setting.
- 6 WAV files: stereo, 24-bit/48 kHz, one per audio source (four HDMI inputs, two mic jacks).
- 1 DaVinci Resolve project (.drp): your live switching as an edit timeline.
The video files carry synced timecode and camera-number tags, so nothing is lined up by hand. With ISO off, the unit records one program file, like the standard Mini Pro.
From Live Show to DaVinci Resolve Edit
Open the project and DaVinci Resolve loads your live cuts, dissolves and graphics on a timeline linked to the clean camera files. Then swap a late cut for a better angle, using the Sync Bin to see every camera at once; remix the audio from the WAV files; and grade each camera on its own.
Resolve is a free download from Blackmagic Design, not in the box. The paid Studio edition comes on a DaVinci Resolve Studio activation card, and the DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor adds a jog dial for cutting between angles, Studio licence included. Either way, open a test recording before the event.
The switcher records in HD. If you also shoot with a Blackmagic studio camera recording Blackmagic RAW (HDMI output still at 1080), Resolve can relink the edit to those originals and master at the cameras' own resolution.

Drives and Recording Settings
No drive comes in the box. Use a USB-C SSD on the USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port, formatted ExFAT (Mac and Windows) or HFS+ (Mac), ideally from the recommended list in Blackmagic's ATEM Mini manual. ISO mode writes eleven media files at once instead of one, so choose the drive for that load.
For long events, a USB hub or Blackmagic MultiDock records to several disks in turn, continuing on the next when one fills; you pick the disks in ATEM Software Control.
Streaming While You Record, and the One USB-C Port
The built-in engine streams over RTMP or SRT to YouTube or Facebook from the Ethernet port, or through a tethered 4G or 5G phone, with no computer once the stream key is set. Over Ethernet, streaming and drive recording run together.
The catch: the one USB-C port serves either the drive or a computer, and Blackmagic does not say webcam output and drive recording run at once. If a laptop needs the program while you ISO record, feed the HDMI output to a capture device; that output then shows the program, not the multiview. A tethered phone needs the same port, so stream over Ethernet on ISO shows.
